In February 2025, 20 avid hikers from around the world have embarked on a transformative journey and walk the Hijrah route retracing the blessed footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the year 622 CE. More than 2.2 billion individuals worldwide suffer from blindness, a condition that significantly impacts lives. Surprisingly, 75% of all cases of blindness are treatable or preventable. Yet, millions of vulnerable people endure a life without sight, perpetuating poverty and hindering their ability to work or pursue education, thus limiting their societal contributions.
